Privacy Policy

01Who we are
Blobly is an event platform that lets people discover, create, host and attend events. In this policy, “we” and “Blobly” mean the operator of blobly.in.
For any question about this policy or your data, contact support@blobly.in.
02What we collect
We collect only what the product needs to work:
- Account data. Your email address, display name, username and — if you sign in with Google — the profile photo Google provides.
- Profile data. Anything you choose to add: a bio, a photo, a banner and social links.
- Event data. Events you create, including titles, descriptions, dates, venue details and artwork.
- Registration data. When you register for an event: your name, email, optionally your phone number, and your answers to the organiser's questions.
- Check-in data. Whether and when you were checked in at an event.
- Consent records. Your age confirmation, guardian consent where applicable, and your cookie preferences.
We do not collect payment card details, because Blobly has no payment gateway connected.
03How we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
- To publish the events you create and show them to the audience you choose.
- To process registrations and give organisers the attendee list for their event.
- To generate your check-in QR code and redeem it at the door.
- To send transactional email — registration confirmations, event updates, cancellations and reminders.
- To enforce our Terms and prevent abuse, including rate-limiting sign-in attempts.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
05Service providers
Blobly uses a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database. Stores your account and all event and registration records.
- Cloudinary — image storage and delivery for profile photos, banners, event artwork and calendar logos.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles and address lookup for event venues. Loading a map sends a request to OpenStreetMap containing your IP address.
Each provider processes data on our instructions, for the purposes described above.
07How long we keep it
- Account and profile data: while your account exists.
- Event and registration records: while the event exists, so organisers keep an accurate record of who attended.
- Cancelled registrations: retained in the organiser's list as cancelled, rather than erased, so capacity and history stay correct.
Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your profile and release your username.
08Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Most of it you can change yourself from your profile settings. For anything else, email support@blobly.in and we will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, restrict it, or complain to a data protection authority.
09Age and guardian consent
When you register, you either confirm you are 18 or older, or you provide a parent or guardian's email address so their consent can be recorded. Until that consent is recorded, hosting events and registering for events remain unavailable on the account.
10Security
Server credentials are never exposed to the browser. Uploads are signed server-side. Organiser actions are verified against the actual owner of the event, not against anything the browser claims. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please email support@blobly.in.
11Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email.
